“My name is Nicholas Parkinson-Bates and I attended BMIHMS from 1995 to 1997.
I began my career in catering before I attended the School.My first industrial placement was an F&B traineeship at The Oberoi in Bombay India - a 1,000 room luxury city property. My second placement was in Scotland at Gleneagles,a deluxe 235-room resort and country retreat. My traineeship was in housekeeping.”

“After I left BMIHMS I worked for Amanresorts in Bali. This was at Amankila, a 35 unit super deluxe resort, where I was duty manager for 5 months. I then moved to London as an Assistant Manager in a small boutique hotel: Hazlitt’s in Soho. I then returned to Australia to participate in Hyatt’s corporate training program in Rooms Division at The Grand Hyatt Melbourne.

After a year with Hyatt I have now obtained a further position with Amanresorts to be their Executive Assistant Manager at their property in the Philippines.This resort,Amanpulo, is a 45 room,bungalow property with 250 staff located on a private Island with it own airstrip, boat fleet, scuba diving centre and other water sporting activities.

With my experiences to date and my up and coming appointment, I believe my forte is with deluxe companies.Amanresorts is the only resort chain that markets itself to guests that have it all and want somewhere exclusive for both business and pleasure.

After my study, travel and my work in various positions in a number of locations around the world I can now say that I am lucky to find the ideal company which operates in a number of fantastic locations throughout the world.

Since beginning at BMIHMS my dream has always been to work for the best and to have the resources to provide guests with that dream holiday combined with exceptional service and facilities. I think that I have now found it!
